Rothmans Racing Porsche bonnet from the famous 956 Le Mans race car is a part of our wall art range. Made of fibre glass the bonnets are covered in car warp vinyl then laminated with a clear coat for longevity.

The 956 made its debut at the Silverstone 6 Hour race, the second round of the World Championship for Makes with Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell driving for the factory. After missing the following round at the 1000 km Nürburgring for developmental reasons, the Ickx/Bell unit reappeared at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. They led the race for the entire 24 hours, eventually taking the overall win – their third win together. As they had already won in 1981 with a Porsche 936 that had used an early version of the 956 engine, their car had started number 1. The two other factory 956 followed them, so the three factory Porsches finished 1-2-3 in the order of their starting numbers.

Boosted by this success, Porsche sold customer versions of the 956 to privateer teams such as Joest Racing, Obermaier Racing, John Fitzpatrick Racing, Richard Lloyd Racing, Kremer Racing and Brun Motorsport who raced them independently of the factory.

The overall all-time lap record for the demanding 20 km Nürburgring-Nordschleife circuit in the Eifel Mountains was achieved during the qualifying session for the 1983 1000km of Nürburgring, by Stefan Bellof, who drove his 956 around in 6 minutes 11.13 seconds, at an average speed of 202 km/h (126 mph). The race lap record is held by the same Bellof, during the 1983 1000 km Nürburgring, the lap being clocked at 6:25.91.

In the event that the Rothmans Racing Porsche bonnet that you have purchased from Piston Graphics is not what you expected please take a clear photo showing the fault (if more than one photo is suitable please supply them). Email to info@pistongraphics.com.au with details of the fault so that we can get a comprehensive impression of the fault. Also supply your name and date of purchase. We will examine the information supplied by you and advise what action for you to take. Should the item be of faulty workmanship, or, not to design, or, not to the advertised quality description, we will negotiate with you, the purchaser a suitable fix or compensation. A replacement item at no cost to you might also be the resolution. We will determine which action to take once we have either received the faulty Rothmans Racing Porsche bonnet back and have examined it verifying the fault, or have received several ‘good quality’ pictures outlining the fault/s.

Piston Graphics uses Pack and Send for its deliveries of large items. Deliveries by Pack and Send through its affiliates usually take up to 5 business days (Piston Graphics does not guarantee or take on any responsibility for the performance of Pack and Send or its affiliates). WHEN ORDERING PLEASE ALLOW AMPLE TIME FOR YOUR ITEMS TO BE DELIVERED.

We will supply a tracking number so that you can track the delivery progress via the Pack and Send web site tracking area. We can use Express Delivery through Pack and Send however this will incur significant extra charges which you will have to pay for (we can advise pricing on a case by case situation). All items will have insurance added which will equal the value of the item plus freight, this is non negotiable.
